COLIN TORLEY

Colin joined Radio Saltire in September 2021. He presented on another radio station for over 3 years prior to that and after a brief time away, he decided to go back to doing what he loved doing and that is playing music. He

joined community radio because he loves being involved in the local community. Radio Saltire is a community station where everyone works together and it’s all about enjoying what you do.

Colin has a very wide musical taste but mostly Pop and Rock. His favourite era is the 70’s and 80’s with his favourite artists being Elvis Costello, Brian Kennedy, Bruce Springsteen, Van Morrison and other singer/songwriters. He also loves Scottish music, in particular, Eddi Reader, Horse, Wet Wet Wet, Deacon Blue, Roddy Frame, Midge Ure etc and who doesn’t love the Bay City Rollers!

Pet Peeve - rude people and people who have no patience.

Colin presents 2 shows a week:

  1. The Saturday Morning Show 9-11am where he goes back through the years, plays "Single of the Week", Saturday cover song and for the last 30 minutes it’s a “Wee Half of Scot’s” which is 30 minutes of music dedicated to Scottish artists old and new.

  2. The Wednesday Night Chill, 7-9pm, where it tends to be a bit more rock and new releases with a few oldies thrown in as well.
